Our new blog series “Meet the Team” will highlight a different RFS employee in each installment. We have some of the most professional and personable people in the business and we want to share them with you! Today, we are featuring an interview with Joe Bell, the RFS Client Relations Specialist.
How long have you worked for RFS?
6 years as of December 19th.
What is your favorite thing about serving the Facilities world?
The amazing diversity of our clients and knocking projects out of the park that other companies cannot or are afraid to handle.
What type of music do you most enjoy listening to?
Classic Rock
If Jerry Seinfeld were to come pick you up to interview you for “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”, what kind of car should he pick you up in?
2018 Lifted Rubicon
What you do as a Client Relations Specialist?
I am the direct point of contact for all clients on all projects from quoting all the way through completion. When we on board a new client, I determine which of our project managers would be the best fit given their project requirements and geographic location. All clients call me first for everything from routine status updates to complex emergency needs. I develop and maintain relationships with every client by meeting with them quarterly to review the progress of their entire project portfolio.
What is a typical day like for you?
I travel 80% of the time across the country doing site visits and status meetings with clients. Face to face contact is very important to me. I am regularly on job sites with my FMs reviewing progress and honing in on their priorities.
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t working?
Hunting, training dogs, golf, and watching football.
What sets RFS apart from other companies in this space?
We do daily tie downs with photos and status updates on every project. Our clients receive a consistent level of communication on every project. As a Client Relations Specialist, I’m not a salesman. I am involved for the specific purpose of providing exemplary service to our clients.
What is your favorite movie?
The American President. Annette Bening and Michael Douglas. “My name is Andrew Shepard and I AM THE PRESIDENT.” Doesn’t get much better than that…. :)
What is something unique about you that most people don’t know about you?
I do a radio show about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for CBS Sports, but most do not know I did a year of “Mike and Joe in the morning” for Fox Sports. A two-hour sports show from 7-9am Monday through Friday. Great time and a LOT of work as we both had full time jobs as well!
What is your greatest “brush with greatness?”
I played 18 holes of golf at Bay Hill Golf and Country Club with Arnold Palmer when I was 14 years old. I won a tournament at The Arnold Palmer Golf Academy and the reward was a round of golf the next day. Certainly something I will remember FOREVER.
